Judges Workshop

The Poultry Club Board of Trustees considers that Judges Workshops play an important part in the training of aspiring judges and in providing a refresher to existing judges. Each year different breeds are highlighted and the workshops give judges an opportunity to learn more about these breeds and to exchange judging experiences as well as seeking advice from senior judges. Judges are encouraged to attend a Judges Workshop once every three years.

An experienced judge will give a brief overview of the breed or section to the Workshop before the group divides into the various sections and adjourns to the Show Hall to look at the birds in more detail.

The programme will be as follows:

  • 11:00 Welcome Talk on “What the Poultry Club expects from it’s judges”
  • 11:10 Introduction to the breeds/sections to be studied.
  • 12:10 Return to meeting room for Question and Answer session.
  • 12:15 End of Workshop.

There will be 10-12 places on each workshop and, in order to secure a place, members are requested to apply as soon as possible. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. All applicants will receive confirmation as to whether or not they have been awarded a place. If you would like to take part in the Judges Workshop please complete the application form. If you are unable to attend for any reason please contact the Secretary so that your place can be re-allocated.
